On July 8, 2025, Key Tech Senior Industrial Designers Josh Hartl and Chet Larrow led a 36-minute SPARK session on how user-centered design drives better outcomes in medical product development. They highlighted methods for engaging stakeholders across the full development cycle—discovery, design, and evaluation—using techniques like observational research, interviews, workflow definition, co-design sessions, and formative testing. Through real-world case studies, Josh and Chet showed how early and iterative user involvement reduces risk, uncovers unmet needs, improves usability, and ultimately leads to safer, more effective devices.
