Please get to know the newest additions to our team below.

Cindy Budzinski, Mechanical Engineer (Bottom Row Center)
Penn State University

Why did you pick Key Tech?
I interned at Key Tech last summer, and I loved the company culture, the cross-disciplinary nature of our work, and of course, the dogs in the office! I also really appreciate how much Key Tech cares about their employees’ growth and happiness.

What do you like best about Key Tech?
Key Tech is full of great people who love to have fun. Everyone is passionate about our work and is also super welcoming!

Favorite project work so far?
My favorite project has been brainstorming concepts for fluid collection and measurement in a hospital setting. This project presented technical and user challenges, making it a fun opportunity to blend the creative aspects of product development and design with the precision and problem-solving of engineering.

What are you excited about in the next year?
I’m excited to see what new things I learn! Every project we work on has different applications and ways for us as engineers to learn and grow. I’ve already learned so much since I started, so I’m excited to see what the next year has in store for me!

If you could have an unlimited supply of something, what would that be?
Airline miles! I want to see the world, and having unlimited airline miles would definitely make that easier!

Brian Fogelson, Computer Engineer (Bottom Row Left)
Johns Hopkins University (BS in EE & CE), University of Michigan (MS in Robotics)

Why did you pick Key Tech?
I wanted to work on exciting projects that help people while at a company that has a lot of fun.

What do you like best about Key Tech so far?
The people (and dogs)! Everyone has been very welcoming, happy to teach me new things, and passionate about Key Tech and their projects.

What are you excited about in the next year?
Learning many new skills in the embedded systems world and continuing to grow and learn in the ML/AI space. In the next few months, we should release a Key Tech AI chatbot to provide access to Key Tech’s 25 years of engineering experience at people’s fingertips.

Which special skills from your previous positions are you looking forward to utilizing at Key Tech?
My experience in ML/AI. I am working to make a Key Tech AI chatbot and consulting on projects + proposals. Also, I look forward to helping in the robotics space using my experience from my Masters and previous job working on autonomous systems for the Navy.

If you could have an unlimited supply of something, what would that be?
Tennis balls!

Lana Hasher (Top Row Right)
Carnegie Mellon University

Why did you pick Key Tech?
Key Tech gives you the opportunity to try out a range of disciplines while working on a diverse array of advanced medical devices. Whether you’re interested in mechanical design, testing, controls, industrial design, or more, Key Tech offers the opportunity to dip your toes into whatever may interest you. Every project brings new challenges and new experiences.

What do you like best about Key Tech?
Getting to be an employee-owner. Having actual ownership of your work makes each project feel much more rewarding, and you get to see all the hard work you put in pay off. At the same time, being an owner means everyone trusts and respects each other, bringing a great work-life balance to Key Tech.

Favorite project work so far?
Redesigning several parts to address unexpected issues that arose while trying to build up a fleet of IVD beta devices. It’s been super rewarding to quickly come up with creative solutions and get the project back on track during such a fast-paced phase.

What are you excited about in the next year?
New projects! Getting to do design work on a product from the ground up.

If you could have an unlimited supply of something what would that be?
Darn Tough socks.

Cole Lundell, Human Factors Engineer and UX Designer (Top Row Left)
University of Washington

Why did you pick Key Tech?
I love technology, and I love biology. While attending the University of Washington, I accidentally achieved a minor in biology by taking “too many” biology classes, much to the chagrin of my advisor. So, it was no surprise that I ended up in the field of medical devices. However, the reason I chose Key Tech specifically is because I wanted to work somewhere that provided a net positive in the world and treated its employees with kindness and dignity.

What do you like best about Key Tech So far?
I love having the opportunity to work on many different projects that allow me to use a wide variety of my skill sets. One day I could be building an interview protocol for a voice of customer project, and the next day I’m prototyping a complicated interface. Also, the dogs.

What are you excited about in the next year?
Just growing more in my role and finding more ways to introduce Human Factors into our projects. It’s an incredible field that keeps growing in value. Also, seeing more dogs.

Which special skills from your previous positions are you looking forward to utilizing at Key Tech?
Currently, I am the only Human Factors Engineer employed by Key Tech. My knowledge of how to employ cross-platform design, as well as my knowledge of accessibility standards, are unique at Key Tech, and I look forward to getting my hands on more projects where those skills can shine.

If you could have an unlimited supply of something what would it be?
Sneakers! I am a huge sneakerhead and currently have a collection of approximately 50 pairs. My favorite sneakers are Air Jordan 1’s and SB Dunks.

Andrew Palacio, Mechanical Engineer (Bottom Row Right)
John Hopkins University

Why did you pick Key Tech?
I chose Key Tech because I wanted to be rapidly exposed to many different projects and technologies, which would provide many opportunities for learning and growth. I wanted challenging technical work on projects that can improve the lives of others, and I have not been disappointed.

What do you like best about Key Tech?
My favorite part of Key Tech is the people. Everyone that I’ve had the opportunity to work with has been extremely smart, knowledgeable, and kind. And the dogs.

Favorite project work so far?
My favorite project work has been running thermal models and doing heat transfer calculations for a PCR device.

What are you excited about in the next year?
I’m excited to continue designing interesting products and learning new things.

If you could have an unlimited supply of something what would that be?
Chicken sandwiches with lots of ranch sauce.
