Key Tech Celebrates Young Women in Engineering

Supporting the careers of young engineers is important to us at Key Tech. After all, they’re one of the reasons working here is so much fun. And we’re especially passionate about aiding efforts to boost the number of women in our profession.

That’s why we were happy recently to host an evening reception celebrating nearly 100 women alumni from the University of Maryland’s Clark School of Engineering. It was incredibly inspiring to see 100 successful women engineers all having a good time together, sharing stories, and lending a hand to further each other’s careers. (Plus, Key Tech’s office is really a great place to have a party and we love entertaining in our theater space!)

Founded in 2007, Maryland’s progressive Women in Engineering program has increased the percentage of women enrolling by a full 10% to nearly 30% this year, well above the national average.  We are proud of Key Tech’s continuing support of this program and of the engineering school as a whole.  And we’re very happy to have 14 spectacular UMD grads among our engineering staff here at Key Tech.

Check out these photos we took of the event.
