04 May Congratulations to the Robodoves
Congratulations to the Western High School all-girls Robodoves team for advancing to the finals of the Chesapeake Regional First Robotics Tournament. Key Tech engineers Lei Zong, Abbie Shoemaker and Andrea Pringle mentored the team.
The First Robotics competition is open to young adults in grades 9-12 who are interested in building and competing with a robot of their own design. Students are mentored by professional engineers who guide them in the use of sophisticated software and hardware. In 2010, over 12 million dollars in scholarship money was available to students who participated on First teams and will be pursuing an engineering degree.
