Digit Power Dispenser
The Digit Power dispenser is an impression material delivery device that connects to a dentist’s chair and it allows them to dispense directly and precisely into the impression site. Key Tech designed the hand piece that the clinician holds during the procedure as well as the disposable cap. User studies were performed at dental clinics to understand user needs and document the use cases. Then, early concept sketches and foam mockups were created to evaluate the different design paths. Once a concept was defined, then preliminary solid modeling was completed before transferring the design back to Dentsply for manufacturing. This product was selected for a 2014 MDEA Design award.
